Leading furniture business signs for new E20 Park Copenhagen warehousing
E20 Park Copenhagen has secured the first occupier for its latest phase of development, with HOLMRIS B8 – a leading Danish furniture business – taking occupation at the park being developed by Aviva Investors, the global asset management business of Aviva plc, and Verdion.
The agreement sees HOLMRIS B8 prelet unit DC1.5, a total of 7,077 sq m incorporating warehousing, office facilities and mezzanine space, as it continues its expansion across the region. HOLMRIS B8 joins existing E20 Park occupiers Molo and NDI Group, which occupy units SC1-4 in the park’s first building.
A further four units remain available to lease in the current phase of development at the park, ranging from 6,900 sq m to 9,700 sq m, with completion scheduled for the end of March. DC1 is the second building to be developed at the 150,000 sq m park.
All occupiers in this 37,000 sq m speculatively-developed facility will benefit from 12.2m headroom, 50kN/m² uniformly distributed loading and LED lighting, with all mains services connected. The facility will also target a DGNB Gold sustainability rating.
Flemming Ib Windfeld, CEO of HOLMRIS B8, said: “HOLMRIS B8 has been growing significant during the last few years and has outgrown our current warehouse. During the process of finding a new location, it has been important to look for a warehouse that supports HOLMRIS B8’s sustainability agenda. We have found that in E20 Park Copenhagen. The DGNB Gold rating was important for us, and we are going to certify our office under DGNB Room. Sustainability is at the core of our business and we see certifications such as DGNB strong tools to make sure that we all move in the right direction. We look forward to entering the new location and to the cooperation with Verdion and Aviva Investors.”
George Fraser-Harding, Head of European Funds at Aviva Investors, said: “The Nordic region continues to see high demand for logistics space, with Denmark in particular being at the heart of our European real estate strategy. We think it remains an attractive market to actively grow our portfolio and we are therefore pleased to see such strong demand from businesses for high-quality spaces, tailored to their occupiers, such as those on offer at E20. We look forward to continuing to grow the park’s capabilities and reputation as a hub that can offer firms an unrivalled set of facilities in the region.”
Daniel Carstens, Commercial Manager at Verdion, said: “This is an important letting that sets the tone for our latest phase of development before construction completes later this month, and we are pleased to welcome HOLMRIS B8 to E20 Park.
“At the same time, we are also seeing considerable interest in the remaining units from a range of national and international businesses, all focussed on the quality of warehousing and strong environmental credentials, as well as our strategic location and good transport links.”
E20 Park Copenhagen is one of Denmark’s largest logistics parks, offering a wide range of unit sizes on its 38-ha site – from smaller scale warehousing for immediate occupation to very large scale, technically complex buildings. Located close to the town of Solrød, it is 25 minutes away from the city centre with over 40% of the Danish population living within an hour’s drive of the site. It is owned by a Fund managed by Aviva Investors.
CBRE advised on the deal and is the retained leasing agent for the park.
